Job summary

Ivy Resource Group is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a Gloucester school on a part-time maternity cover (Thursday and Friday). The post is on the Main Pay Scale and starts on Monday 4 January 2027.

You will teach and support pupils, including those with SEND, uphold high expectations, and collaborate with the Headteacher and staff to sustain progress. The school provides leadership support and a professional teaching consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Year 1 teaching with high pupil attainment expectations.
• Ability to support pupils, including those with SEND needs, to achieve their best.
• Strong classroom management and resilience in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Under Headteacher direction, carry out the duties of a Year 1 teacher as outlined in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.
• Develop and implement high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and progress in Year 1 across the school.

Job Description:

We are looking for a determined and talented individual who is an excellent teacher, with high expectations of pupil achievement and are excited and passionate about supporting all pupils, especially those with SEND needs, to achieve their best. We are looking for a teacher who is able to fully support the Headteacher and school team to provide the best start to our pupils learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher, carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as set out in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.

• Develop and implement high quality teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment and progress in a specific subject under the Head Teachers direction, across the school.
