Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a SEN Provision Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Walsall on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with additional needs. This role focuses on enabling access to learning, building confidence, and fostering a positive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will support social and emotional development, collaborate with teaching staff, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
