Job summary

Southbrook School in Canterbury invites an experienced teacher to lead a Year 0-3 team. You will model best practice, coach staff, and foster an inclusive Learning Space that supports tamariki as they transition to school.

We seek a NZ registered teacher with strong literacy and mathematics knowledge, excellent communication, and a passion for collaborative, culturally responsive teaching.

This role includes release time each term and recognition through a management unit.

Qualifications

• A fun, enthusiastic, driven educator with a passion to lead, coach and inspire others.
• A team player who is able to build and maintain positive relationships with all of our school team.
• A teacher who has strong systems and structures and communication.
• An outstanding practitioner with strong, current pedagogical, curriculum and assessment knowledge, particularly in Literacy and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the Year 0–3 team and drive collaborative planning.
• Promote and embrace inclusive Learning Space practices, and support tamariki as they transition to school.
• Work with staff to build rigorous, culturally responsive teaching and assessment practices.
