Job summary

Waltham School in Canterbury invites two outstanding junior school teachers (years 0-3) to join our vibrant, multicultural team from the beginning of 2027. The role focuses on foundational learning across Years 1–3, with a commitment to inclusion, collaboration and building trusting relationships with tamariki and their families.

Knowledge or experience of the Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) and Numicon is advantageous. Applicants must be NZ registered.

Qualifications

  • NZ registered teacher with current practising certificate.
  • Ability to teach primary and intermediate (Years 1–8).
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse learners (neurodiverse students) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong connections with tamariki and their families.
  • Demonstrate culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including neurodiverse learners.
  • Be approachable, empathetic and solution-focused.
  • Go the extra mile for learners and colleagues.

Our vibrant and multicultural school is seeking two outstanding junior school teachers (years 0-3) to join our team from the beginning of 2027.
