Job summary

Bower Roebuck & Co in the Holme Valley (West Yorkshire) seeks a Yarn Store Operative to support incoming yarn deliveries, issue stocks to production, and return yarn to stock. The role is physically demanding, involving lifting and moving within a mill environment.

Hours are 39 per week on day shifts, with a 30-minute paid meal break. Training in fork-lift operation may be provided, and there are comprehensive pension and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Be physically capable of safely lifting up to 25kg.
• Ability to use pallet trucks and other moving/lifting equipment.
• Basic computer skills for scanning and logging yarn and completing forms.
• Willingness to follow procedures and SSOWs and provide feedback for improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support incoming deliveries of yarn by moving palletised stock, quality checking, and logging goods.
• Issue yarn stocks to production teams and return unused yarn to stock, weighing and logging returns.
• Log receipts and ensure accurate stock records on the system.
• Perform lifting and moving around the mill site as required by the role.
