Job summary

Travis Perkins Trading Company Limited is seeking a Yard Assistant to support our external yard operations. You will process customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and ensure accurate stock reporting in the branch warehouse.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a friendly, hands-on approach with customers. Forklift experience is helpful, though full training is provided; you should be physically able to handle heavy and bulky stock in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and assist in loading/unloading vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book into the warehouse.

• Operate in a dynamic, fast-paced outdoor setting while adhering to safety guidelines.

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment
• This is a key customer facing role, so you will need to be enthusiastic and have great interpersonal skills.
• Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
• Thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, be adaptable and resilient.
