Job summary

Travis Perkins in High Wycombe is looking for a Yard Assistant to support outdoor yard operations, process customer orders, and help load/unload vehicles. You will also unload deliveries and accurately book items in the branch warehouse.

The role emphasizes customer-facing service, physical work, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. Training is provided for forklift use, with opportunities for development across the business.

Qualifications

• This is a key customer facing role requiring a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Ability to handle heavy and bulky stock safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience with forklifts is preferred, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Base outside, processing customer orders and loading/unloading vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book them in the branch warehouse.
• Maintain a tidy and safe working environment in the yard.
• Assist customers and provide high standards of service on site.
• Support team with day-to-day yard operations as needed.

• Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
