Job summary

Travis Perkins is seeking a Yard Assistant to join our outdoor yard team. Based outside, you will process customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and help unload building products while accurately recording stock in the branch warehouse.

You will need to be physically able to handle heavy and bulky stock, follow safety guidelines, and bring a friendly, proactive approach to customer service. Training is provided to support your development and progression.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic with great interpersonal skills.
• Capable of physical tasks including handling heavy/bulky stock.
• Willingness to work outdoors in yard environments.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and assist with loading/unloading customer and company vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and stock accurately in branch warehouse.
• Maintain a tidy, safe working environment and follow health and safety guidelines.
• Support development and progression through available training and schemes.

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

• This is a key customer facing role, so you will need to be enthusiastic and have great interpersonal skills.
• Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
