Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd in the South of England is seeking a proactive Yards person to support its civils reactive contract. This hands-on role involves keeping the yard tidy and safe, managing plant and stock, coordinating hires, and ensuring records are up to date.

You will track plant, assist with procurement, perform basic repairs where possible, organise vehicle maintenance, and help the team deliver high‑quality service to clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard, construction, or civils environments is desirable
• Basic IT skills and confidence using systems to manage stock and records
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Proactive, reliable, and can-do attitude
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently run yard
• Manage plant, stock, and procurement activities
• Track plant equipment; ensure inspection and readiness for use
• Coordinate hires and manage stock levels
• Support purchasing of materials
• Carry out basic repairs where possible
• Organise vehicle maintenance
• Keep accurate records up to date
