The Role

As a Yard Man you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the materials yard and its equipment, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of materials and tools. This role supports the overall operations within our multi‑disciplined civil engineering projects by maintaining a well‑organised yard, coordinating with project teams, and adhering to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Fill up vehicles/equipment requiring fuel, ensuring the amount used is issued and documented accurately
• Ensure collection of rubbish from around the yard
• Manage the materials and aggregates in the yard
• Reordering of stock when required
• Monitor and manage the vehicles within the yard, ensuring all vehicles are kept safe and secure
• Ensure all collections and deliveries are loaded and unloaded in a timely manner and verified upon loading and receipt
• Complete fire and first aid checks across the plant and yard to ensure we are compliant
• Order required materials

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proven experience within the same or similar role

Qualifications & Training

• GCSEs Grade 4‑9 or equivalent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• CPCS Telehandler licence is desired but not essential
• CPCS Loading Shovel is desired but not essential
