Job summary

Traffic Safety & Management, Ltd. seeks a Trainee Yard Operative to join our Nottingham Depot. You will work under supervision to maintain yard operations, handle materials, and ensure a safe, organized workspace.

The role involves manual handling, loading/unloading, site maintenance, safety procedures, and some administrative tasks. A UK driving licence is a plus; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform manual handling safely.
• Clear verbal and written communication with management, colleagues and customers.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently while following instructions.
• Basic numeracy and familiarity with IT or mobile apps for equipment booking and tracking.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Load and unload equipment, containers and building materials safely.
• Site Maintenance: Keep yard areas clean and organised.
• Traffic and Safety Management: Follow Banksman procedures and safety policies.
• Administrative Tasks: Record equipment usage and complete paperwork.
• Customer Service: Support delivery operations and assist customers as needed.
