Job summary

GRS Group in Langley is seeking a self-motivated yard operative to drive mobile plant and learn bagging equipment on site. You'll work in all weather with a highly motivated team, where clear communication is fundamental and manual work is routine.

The role emphasises safety, quality and teamwork, with training provided on all equipment, site procedures, and HR and safety duties to promote a compliant, productive workplace.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Health and Safety (preferable).
• Training will be given but experience in the above areas will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, compliant & efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety at all times, reporting issues to line manager.
• Work as part of a high performing team to produce bagged aggregates for customers with focus on quality and production.
• Operate a Forklift truck, depending on site requirement.
• Completion of fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
• Bag aggregates and fill bags to target levels with relevant training.
• General housekeeping duties as requested by line manager.
• Good communication with drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
• Discharge HR and Safety duties to promote a safe and compliant workplace.

Job Purpose

A yard operative needs to be willing of driving mobile plant and learning the use of the bagging machines on site. They need to be able to work in all weather conditions and work within a highly motivated team with good communication being fundamental within the role. Manual work is required on a daily basis.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, Compliant & Efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety at all times, reporting any issues, accidents and near miss to line manager.
• Work as part of a team high performing team to produce bagged aggregates for our customers with focus on quality and production key.
• Operate a Forklift truck, depending on site requirement.
• Completion of fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
• Bag aggregates in a plastic and bulk bag to the required target levels with relevant training given.
• Net and sheet lorries as and when requested by line manager.
• General housekeeping duties as and when requested by line manager.
• Good communication with all drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.
