Job summary

Ashtead Technology is seeking a proactive Yard Operative to help maintain a safe, tidy and efficient yard and warehouse environment on site in the UK. You will handle deliveries, assist with moving and storing equipment, and support ongoing operations to keep the yard running smoothly.

The role calls for hands-on experience, forklift competence (B1/B2) and Banksman/Slinger basics, with a practical, can-do approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a busy setting.

Responsibilities

• Keep the yard and warehouse areas clean, tidy, organised and free from hazards.
• Load and unload vehicles using forklifts and Banksman / Slinging duties as directed.
• Maintain the yard layout and outside racking to support safe and efficient operations.
• General yard maintenance as required.
• Ensure forklifts and yard equipment are maintained in good working condition and report defects promptly.

We’re looking for a proactive and hands‑on Yard Operative to help keep our yard and warehouse running safely, efficiently and smoothly. You’ll play an important role in maintaining an organised working environment, handling deliveries and supporting the movement and storage of equipment and materials.

What you'll be doing:

• Keeping the yard and warehouse areas clean, tidy, organised, and free from hazards.
  
• Load and unload vehicles using forklifts and Banksman / Slinging duties as directed.
• Maintain the yard layout and outside racking to support safe and efficient operations.
• General yard maintenance as required.
• Ensure forklifts and yard equipment are maintained in good working condition and report defects promptly.

What experience you'll bring:

• Hands on experience in a similar role
• A team player with a positive can‑do attitude
• Ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines and work on own incitive
• B1 and B2 Forklift Licence
• Banksman / Slinger experience (preferred but not essential)
