Job summary

SUEZ in Taunton is seeking a site operative to deliver excellent customer service and help maximise the recovery of materials deposited on site.

The role combines general yard duties with driving a forklift truck (FLT counterbalance); loading shovel license is desirable, and full training will be provided.

You will work as part of the site team to keep areas tidy, comply with health and safety obligations, and support holiday and sickness cover as required.

• Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
• Flexible approach to work, cover holiday/sick days as required.

Job description

What will I be doing?

Providing excellent levels of customer service, you will advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• This role will be split with general yard operative duties and driving FLT counterbalance. Loading shovel license would be desirable.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
• Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.

• FLT counterbalance licence
• Loading Shovel licence (Desirable but not essential)
