Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is recruiting a Yard Operative for a busy recycling facility in Wath-upon-Dearne. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break and involves working both indoors and outdoors in a yard environment.

This temporary-to-permanent position offers full-time hours, overtime, weekly pay, and progression within a well-established recycling business. Drug and alcohol testing is a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug and alcohol test prior to starting.
• Willingness to undergo random testing during employment.

Responsibilities

• General yard duties across the recycling facility
• Sorting and segregating recyclable materials
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Moving materials around the yard safely
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and free from hazards
• Assisting with waste management and recycling processes
• Supporting machine operators and other site personnel as required
• Following all health and safety procedures at all times
• Working as part of a team to maintain site productivity

Yard Operative

Yard Operative Location: Derwent Way, Wath West Industrial Estate, Wath-upon-Dearne, S63 Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (30-minute unpaid break) Overtime Rates: Overtime after 8 hours per day paid at time and a half Saturdays paid at time and a half Sundays paid at double time Please note that candidates MUST pass a drug and alcohol test prior to starting and agree to random testing throughout employment.

Yard Operative Required We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy recycling facility based in Wath-upon-Dearne. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering long-term work with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The role will involve working both indoors and outdoors within the recycling yard, supporting the day-to-day operation and ensuring the site is kept safe, organised and running efficiently.

Duties

• General yard duties across the recycling facility
• Sorting and segregating recyclable materials

Ideal candidate

• Have previous experience in a yard operative, recycling, warehouse, production or industrial environment
• Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Be positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Be physically fit and happy to undertake a hands-on role
• Be able to follow instructions and work independently when required
• Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
