Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting a Yard Operative for a busy recycling facility in South Yorkshire. The role is a temporary to permanent opportunity with long-term potential, based at Derwent Way, Wath-upon-Dearne.

You will perform general yard duties, sorting recyclable materials and loading/unloading vehicles, indoors and outdoors, supporting safe, efficient site operations. Ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard operative, recycling, warehouse or industrial environments.
• Comfortable indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
• Physically fit and hands-on.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently.
• Able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• General yard duties across the recycling facility.
• Sort and segregate recyclable materials.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Move materials around the yard safely.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and free from hazards.
• Assist with waste management and recycling processes.
• Support machine operators and other site personnel as required.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work as part of a team to maintain site productivity.

Salary: GBP12.71 - GBP12.8 per hour

Yard Operative

Location: Derwent Way, Wath West Industrial Estate, Wath-upon-Dearne, S63
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Overtime Rates:

• Overtime after 8 hours per day paid at time and a half
• Saturdays paid at time and a half
• Sundays paid at double time

Please note that candidates MUST pass a drug and alcohol test prior to starting and agree to random testing throughout employment.

Yard Operative Required

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy recycling facility based in Wath-upon-Dearne. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering long-term work with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The role will involve working both indoors and outdoors within the recycling yard, supporting the day-to-day operation and ensuring the site is kept safe, organised and running efficiently.

Duties will include:

• General yard duties across the recycling facility
• Sorting and segregating recyclable materials

• Moving materials around the yard safely
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and free from hazards
• Assisting with waste management and recycling processes

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a yard operative, recycling, warehouse, production or industrial environment
• Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Be physically fit and happy to undertake a hands-on role
• Be able to follow instructions and work independently when required
• Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
