Job summary

Eurocell Group Ltd is looking for a reliable Yard Operative to join our Recycling operation in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. The role is site-based at Eurocell Recycle in Ilkeston with Monday to Friday hours and a competitive hourly rate.

You will be involved in loading/unloading, moving and processing recyclable materials, and ensuring a safe, tidy yard environment. The job requires outdoor work in all weather, good teamwork, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse or recycling environment.
• Valid Counter Balance license is required.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
• Heavy lifting is a part of this role.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload lorries using appropriate equipment (e.g. forklift, telehandler).
• Ensure materials are handled correctly and paperwork is completed accurately.
• Move, sort and process recyclable materials including metals, plastic, wood and general waste.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard free yard environment, including storage areas and traffic routes.
• Direct and control vehicle movements on site to ensure safe access and egress, prevent congestion, and maintain compliance with site traffic plans.
• Operate machinery and tools safely and report faults or maintenance needs promptly.

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 18:00
SALARY: £15.49 p/hr

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our busy Recycling operation in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and safe movement, storage, and dispatch of materials across the site along with supporting our Recycling team.

WHAT OUR YARD OPERATIVES DO:

• Safely load and unload lorries using appropriate equipment (e.g. forklift, telehandler)
• Ensuring materials are handled correctly and paperwork is completed accurately
• Move, sort and process recyclable materials including metals, plastic, wood and general waste
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard free yard environment, including designated storage areas and traffic routes
• Direct and control vehicle movements on site to ensure safe access and egress, prevent congestion, and maintain compliance with site traffic plans
• Operate machinery and tool safely and efficiently, reporting faults or maintenance needs promptly

WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR YARD OPERATIVES:

• Experience in a yard, warehouse or recycling environment (preferred)
• Valid Counter Balance license (required)
• Awareness of traffic management and vehicle safety procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual and safety conscious
• Heavy lifting is a part of this role
