Job summary

The-Best-Connection-Employment-Group is seeking a reliable Yard Operative to join a busy operation in the Nottingham area. The role involves safe handling, movement and storage of materials within the yard using a counterbalance forklift, while supporting the wider team with general yard duties.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (RTITB/ITSSAR/NPORS or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience in yard/warehouse/logistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.
• Move, store, and organise stock within the yard.
• Carry out goods-in and goods-out activities.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and report defects.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Assist with stock control and inventory checks.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Support other departments as needed.

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join a busy and fast-paced operation in the Nottingham area. This role involves the safe handling, movement, and storage of materials within the yard using a counterbalance forklift, as well as supporting the wider team with general yard duties.

The successful candidate must hold a valid, in-date, and accredited Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and possess a full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Moving, storing, and organising stock within the yard.
• Carrying out goods-in and goods-out activities.
• Conducting daily equipment checks and reporting any defects.

Requirements

• Valid, in-date, and accredited Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous experience working within a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
