Job summary

Quest Employment Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Yard Manager for our Peterborough site. You will own 3-4 yard areas, ensure correct stock placement and smooth movements of products and materials, and lead a small team to keep the yard organised and safe daily.

This is a site-based role, Monday to Friday, with a strong focus on safety, housekeeping, and collaboration with Production, Operations, Logistics, and other managers to keep everything flowing efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
• Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable or essential.
• Proven ability to manage a small operational team and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of 3-4 yard areas.
• Ensure products & materials are stored safely and access is clear.
• Maintain organised, well-controlled yard spaces.
• Supervise a small team of Yard Operatives.
• Allocate daily tasks and communicate priorities.
• Monitor workload and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Coordinate movement of products/materials around the yards.
• Work with Production, Operations and Logistics to keep flow smooth.
• Assist with loading/unloading activity when required.
• Ensure all forklift and yard movements are safe.
