Grant & Stone Building Supplies (Part of IBMG) in Wantage is seeking a reliable Yard Operative / HGV Class 2 HIAB Relief Driver to join our team. The role combines yard work with delivery cover, supporting daily operations and customer service.

Requires a valid HGV2 licence, CPC and Tachograph card; HIAB is preferred. Benefits include a competitive salary, pension, annual leave, staff discount, and ongoing training within IBMG.

Formación

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• HIAB Licence preferred (training may be available for the right candidate).
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work safely in a busy yard environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Good level of physical fitness for manual handling duties.
• Forklift experience desirable but not essential.
• Builders merchant experience advantageous but not essential.

Responsabilidades

• Yard duties including picking and preparing customer orders.
• Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard.
• Assisting with stock control and goods-in procedures.
• Serving and assisting customers in the yard.
• Operating a forklift truck (training provided if required).
• Delivering building materials safely and efficiently.
• Operating HIAB equipment where licensed.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and paperwork.
• Ensuring deliveries are made on time.
• Providing excellent customer service at every delivery point.
• Following all transport, safety and compliance procedures.
