Job summary

SMT GB in Immingham is seeking a proactive Yard Person for a full-time, permanent position. You will help maintain machines, manage yard space and support deliveries to ensure smooth operations and an excellent customer experience.

The role requires yard/warehouse experience, understanding of construction equipment, strong organisation, and good communication. A UK driving licence (and forklift licence if available) is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a yard, warehouse, transport, logistics or outdoor operational environment.
• Understanding of construction equipment, heavy machinery or similar plant equipment.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently while being a reliable team player.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence and/or forklift licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and valeting machines to a high standard ready for customer delivery.
• Booking machines into the depot, carrying out visual inspections and allocating storage locations.
• Managing yard space efficiently and ensuring equipment is stored safely and effectively.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment across the yard.
• Loading and unloading machinery, working closely with transport providers to meet delivery schedules.
• Supporting courier movements and maintaining accurate records of all deliveries and collections.
