Job summary

Staffline is recruiting a Yard Operative for Heathrow Airport. The role is full-time, 5 on, 3 off, with shifts from 10am to 7pm and some flexibility to cover afternoon shifts.

You will act as banks person for HGV movements, carry out stock checks, support the Stores team, perform loading/offloading, and help keep the yard tidy. Driving license is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as a banks person for HGV movements within the GSE area.
• Carry out stock counts for the top-up operation and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Prevent colleagues from using the bay lift and confidently challenge colleagues when required.
• Ensure a banks person is used when D1 and step vehicles are reversing.
• Conduct safety conversations with colleagues to address incorrect use of PPE.
• Conduct safety conversations to address non-compliance with safety requirements.
• Raise hazard reports, SLAM observations and near-miss reports for unsafe conditions, as appropriate.
• Work closely with the Stores team to support day-to-day operations.
• Carry out loading and offloading duties.
• Carry out vehicle cleaning duties.
• Keep containers and top-up vehicles tidy.
• Monitor parking during break times and drop-off and pick-up periods.
• Provide cover for the Loader role when required.

The rate of pay is £14.58 per hour

This is a full-time role working 5 on 3 off:

10am to 7pm (some flexibility to cover afternoon shifts aswell)
