Job summary

Total Plumbing in Aberystwyth is seeking a Yard Assistant / Relief LGV Driver to join our BRANCH team. This role blends yard and warehouse duties with occasional LGV driving to support deliveries and customer service.

You will manage loading, stock checks, and forklift tasks, plus drive safely to residential and commercial sites. The position provides steady hours, a salary of £27,162.50 per year, and benefits including a profit share and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• A valid LGV Class 2 driving licence.
• Up to date CPC and Hiab experience would be advantageous.
• Great customer service and communication skills.
• A team player with a flexible, hands-on attitude.
• Forklift licence (desirable — training can be provided).
• Commitment to health & safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• In the Yard & Warehouse: Help customers with orders and loading materials safely into their vehicles.
• Pick, check, and prepare stock for deliveries and collections; load vehicles.
• Maintain stock accuracy, replenish shelves, keep the yard tidy and safe.
• Assist with unloading supplier vehicles and storing goods safely.
• Operate forklifts safely (training provided if required).
• As a Relief LGV Driver: Safely operate company vehicles and carry out daily inspections.
• Deliver products to customers and obtain signatures; represent the company on the road.

Location: Aberystwyth Do you enjoy working outdoors, supporting customers, and getting behind the wheel? We’re looking for a Yard Assistant / Relief LGV Driver to join our busy BRANCH team. This is a varied role where you’ll support the smooth running of the yard and warehouse while also stepping in to cover LGV driving duties when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

In the Yard & Warehouse:

• Help customers with orders and loading materials safely into their vehicles.
• Pick, check, and prepare stock for deliveries and collections.
• Loading the vehicles ready for delivery.
• Maintain stock accuracy, replenish shelves, and keep the yard well-presented.
• Assist with unloading supplier vehicles and storing goods safely.
• Operate forklifts safely (training provided if required)
• Support with regular stock checks and merchandising.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times.

As a Relief LGV Driver

• Safely operate company vehicles, following all road laws and company policies.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and ensure accurate documentation.
• Secure loads correctly, using tarpaulins and cranes where trained.
• Deliver products to customers, ensuring goods are signed for.
• Represent the company on the road with professionalism and courtesy.
• Provide first-class service to every customer

Hours of work: An average of 40.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 4.30pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 8.00am until 12.00pm.

Salary: £27,162.50 per annum
