Position:

Exeter High School in SAU 16 seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach at Exeter High School.

Responsibilities:

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical trainingnecessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the sametime, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride ofaccomplishment in the student-athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skillsthrough coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

Qualifications:

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a wrestling program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport; at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent towrestling,
• The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes throughhis/her instructions and actions.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies of Exeter High School.
• Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.

Administrative Duties:

• Assists the Head Coach in scheduling, providing transportation, and meeting requirements for tournament and special sport events.
• Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.

Student Responsibilities:

• Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes of the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Gives constant attention to a student-athlete's grades and conduct.
• By his/her presence at all practices, contests, and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance, andsafeguards for each participant.

Reports to:

The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation inconjunction with the high school principal.
