Job summary

Exeter High School SAU 16 is seeking an Alpine Ski Head Coach to lead and develop a competitive program. You will instruct athletes in skills, strategy, and conditioning while promoting character, discipline, and pride in achievement.

You will mentor students, align with NFHS/NHIAA regulations, and collaborate with the athletic director on scheduling, transportation, and events. Experience guiding youth sports and owning a license are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise an Alpine Ski program.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of Alpine Skiing.
• Head coach must serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist athletic director in scheduling, transportation, and meeting requirements for tournaments and events.
• Prepare for scheduled sport events or practices and adhere to facility times.
• Mentor athletes to promote character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility and citizenship.
• Monitor student-athletes' grades and conduct and provide guidance.
• Provide supervision and support during practices, competitions, and travel.

Position:

Exeter High School in SAU 16 seeks outstanding applicants for the Alpine Ski Head Coach position.

Responsibilities:

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student-athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

Qualifications:

• Has the ability to organize and supervise an Alpine Ski program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• The head coach must have knowledge of the technical aspects of Alpine Skiing.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
• The head coach must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies of Exeter High School.
• Has knowledge of existing NFHS and NHIAA regulations.
• Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.

Administrative Duties:

• Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation, and meeting requirements for tournament and special sport events.
• Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.

Student Responsibilities:

• Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student-athletes of the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Gives constant attention to a student-athlete's grades and conduct.
• By his/her presence at all practices, competitions, and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant.

Reports to:

The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
