Desford Community Primary School is seeking a caring Wraparound Care Assistant to join our team, supporting before and after-school provision in a safe, welcoming environment.
You will work 3pm-5:30pm, 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, term time only, with a minimum of two days per week.
The role focuses on safeguarding, building positive relationships, planning engaging activities, and collaborating with staff to support children's wellbeing.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Wraparound Care Assistant to join our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our before and after-school provision, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can learn, play and flourish.
Working as part of our Wraparound Care team, you will help provide high-quality childcare that reflects the values and ethos of our school, ensuring children feel happy, supported and valued throughout their time in our care.
You will:
Create a fun, safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child feels welcome.
Build positive, supportive relationships with all pupils, encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
Plan, prepare and lead engaging activities that promote children's social, emotional, creative and physical development.
Supervise children during wraparound sessions, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and enjoyment always.
Support the individual needs of children, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
Prepare and supervise snacks in line with food hygiene and allergy procedures.
Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, carers and colleagues.
Work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure continuity of care and support.
Observe and report safeguarding or welfare concerns in accordance with school procedures.
Contribute ideas to continually develop and improve the wraparound provision.
Is passionate about supporting children to thrive.
Demonstrates kindness, patience and empathy.
Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Is organised, reliable and flexible.

Applicants should ideally have:
Experience of working with primary-aged children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics).
An understanding of child development and positive behaviour management.
Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities (training can be provided).
The ability to communicate confidently with children, parents and colleagues.
A calm, caring and positive approach to supporting children.
Relevant childcare qualifications or paediatric first aid training would be advantageous but are not essential.
