Job summary

Wansdyke School, part of Acorn Education Trust, is seeking a Wraparound Care Assistant to support the after‑school program. The role involves helping plan and run activities for primary pupils in a safe, engaging environment after school hours.

The successful candidate will work 7 hours 10 minutes per week across a Monday/Wednesday and a Tuesday/Thursday timetable, term‑time with fixed term until 31st August 2027. Experience with children and food handling is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in a play/educational setting.
• Food handling certificate or willingness to complete one.
• First Aid trained (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and organizing a range of activities suitable for primary-aged children, considering their interests and developmental needs.
• Support in delivering a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children who attend wraparound care.
• Collaborate with the Wraparound Care Leader and staff to ensure high‑quality education and care during after‑school provision.
