Job description

WorkWell Coach

Location: Woking

Salary: A£25,835 - A£27,075 inclusive per annum

Hours: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

You have a QCF in Advice & Guidance (Level 3) or equivalent, plus a proven ability to work to policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, lone working, information governance, and health and safety. You'd also like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with. Welcome to Waythrough as a WorkWell Coach.

WorkWell is an exciting new government/DWP initiative to get people back to work. It provides work placement support and addresses physical or mental health needs via a Mental Health Provider and Physical Health Advisor. The pilot in Surrey started in December and aims to empower people to take control of their health, wellbeing, and employment impacts through referral to a WorkWell Coach.

Your role involves working within primary care networks (PCN) and community hubs to provide a supportive environment where individuals can identify their health and wellbeing concerns and their impact on employment. You will adopt a strengths-based approach, focusing on 'what matters to me', and develop personalized, holistic support plans to help individuals thrive at work. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of physical activity, mental health, and skills and employment advisors will be essential to provide interventions and connect individuals to community support, ensuring long-term health, wellbeing, and employment stability.

Key skills include motivational coaching, interview skills, organization, planning, prioritization, and a commitment to personal development. Familiarity with office IT systems, good word processing skills, and the ability to create plans and reports using emails and the internet are important. A proactive, flexible approach, along with empathetic listening and person-centered support, is vital. You should be committed to reducing health inequalities and capable of inspiring trust and confidence to motivate others to reach their potential.

This role offers excellent benefits, training, and development opportunities. It is a hybrid role, primarily community and home-based, with occasional office visits. A driver and access to a car are essential due to the nature of the role.

We value diversity and welcome applications from those with lived experience and from Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic groups. The recruitment process is rolling, and candidates will be interviewed as shortlisted. Please upload a CV and cover letter explaining why you are right for the role.

We support learning and development, including apprenticeships relevant to the role. Anyone in a permanent post who has passed probation can apply for apprenticeships.

Waythrough was launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship (RF). Aquarius, supporting individuals affected by substance use or gambling, is now a subsidiary of Waythrough. We specialize in mental health, alcohol, drugs, and related services, aiming to break down barriers to support and help people live valued lives.
