Job summary

MEP Hire, a branch of Vp plc, is seeking a Workshop Technician at our Staines-upon-Thames site. You will maintain and repair MEP hire equipment, ensuring timely availability for customers and supporting branch operations.

Full in-house training will be provided to candidates with the right mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities include testing and repairing equipment, keeping gear clean for hire, coordinating with the Hire Desk, and handling stock checks and counter duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with machinery and tools, mechanical and electrical knowledge is preferred.
• College leaver or similar with a relevant mechanical qualification can apply.
• Formal qualifications not essential as in-house training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and repair MEP hire equipment and assets.
• Keep hire equipment clean and ready for hire.
• Collaborate with Hire Desk to understand turnaround times.
• Ensure records are completed accurately per procedures.
• Follow H&S rules at all times.
• Manage spares and parts to minimise off hires.
• Assist with stock takes as required.
• Cover counter, deliveries and collections when needed.
