Job summary

MEP Hire is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the warehouse team and manage the movement of hire equipment in and out of the branch. Reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager, you will oversee Branch Assistants and Dispatch Controllers to deliver on customer requirements with precision.

The role demands operational delivery experience, people management and the ability to maintain high standards in a busy, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a warehouse environment.
• Experience of managing a team and delivering operational targets.
• Capable of building relationships, remaining calm under pressure and driving training.
• Positive role model with strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse team and dispatch controllers to manage movement of hire equipment.
• Plan and ensure availability of non-mechanical fleet through proactive scheduling.
• Oversee cleaning, service, repair and inspection of equipment.
• Conduct stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure correct handling of goods in/out and maintain tidy, secure warehouse.

MEP Hire are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the warehouse team manging the movement of our extensive catalogue of hire equipment in and out of the branch ensuring customer requirements are met in full. Reporting into the Assistant Branch Manager the role will be responsible for managing the Branch Assistants and Dispatch Controllers so we’re looking for experience in operational delivery and people management.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all hire fleet items are managed and accounted forEnsuring availability of non-mechanical fleet through planning and executingManage the cleaning of equipment returned from hire as well as carrying out service, repair and inspect on LLA machines and small toolsOrganise and complete perpetual stock counts and investigate discrepanciesEnsure goods in/out process is adhered toEnsure damage and missing accessories are recorded correctlyEnsure all hire fleet items are stored in the correct locationEnsure procedures and administration processes are followed by team membersLiaise with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure target availability is achievedEnsure that all team members keep the warehouse clean, tidy and secure at all timesTo ensure team members receive correct training and development.Day to day management of the team – resource planning, holiday planning, setting objectives, measuring performance
