Job summary

A leading engineering staffing provider is expanding its Workshop team in Aberdeenshire and seeks qualified Mechanical Technicians. The role involves repair and assembly on drilling equipment, ensuring safety, and adhering to company standards. Candidates should hold relevant mechanical engineering qualifications and have a solid understanding of fluid systems.

Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of fluid power systems.
  • Experience in high-pressure testing (oil and water mediums).
  • Knowledge of subsea well control equipment is advantageous.

  • Operate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, and vertical lift platforms.

Job description

Due to continued growth, HMH in Aberdeenshire is expanding our Workshop team and seeking qualified Mechanical Technicians to carry out all aspects of repair, overhaul, and assembly on a variety of drilling equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to risk assessments and toolbox talks
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner
  • Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to Company standards
  • Ensure timesheets and inspection reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Carry out QC checks at Goods In point as required
  • Report and participate in investigations of unsafe practices and behaviors
  • Suggest improvements to working practices and product lines
  • Adhere to all local waste management policies and procedures
  • Operate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, and vertical lift platforms (training provided)
Candidate Requirements:
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good working knowledge of fluid power systems
  • Experience in high-pressure testing (oil and water mediums)
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Ability to read schematic and layout drawings
  • Knowledge of subsea well control equipment is advantageous
  • Effective communication skills in English (written and oral)
