Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc are seeking a Workshop Lead Technician in Oldmeldrum to oversee maintenance, mobilisation and testing of fleet assets, ensuring compliance with quality and HSEQ policies.

You will lead a team of Workshop Technicians, promote a OneTeam culture, drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency, and ensure safe operation of subsea and offshore deck equipment through hands‑on mentorship and robust paperwork.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and/or hydraulic background with technical proficiency.
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of Technicians.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and efficiency in a workshop environment.
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of subsea and offshore deck equipment.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, repair, and test company fleet assets in accordance with industry best practices and company procedures.
• Ensure equipment is released fully function tested and fabric maintained.
• Drive technician completion of service paperwork and certification during the maintenance process.
• Lead, organise, coach, and mentor workshop technicians and personnel to promote personal development and raise standards.
• Drive workshop continuous improvement strategies and participate in QHSE improvements.
• Support workshop and QA managers in identifying areas of improvement.
• Promote and lead the use of mobile devices and smart software applications to work effectively and drive efficiency.
• Maximise tool time and efficiency by motivating and influencing team members to continually improve and raise standards.
• Lead by example in delivering a flexible approach to overtime.
• Identify areas to increase cost efficiency and efficiencies in workflow processes.
• Conduct Off Hire inspections and participate in Equipment breakdown reports.

About The Role
