Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group in Huntingdon is seeking a Senior Workshop Machine Operative to join our manufacturing team on days, Monday to Friday. You will manufacture items that meet customer specifications using conventional machine shop equipment and contribute to a safe, efficient workshop.

The ideal candidate has machine shop experience or relevant qualifications and can read drawings, follow instructions, and work with attention to detail and quality.

Qualifications

• Engineering / machine shop experience or qualification.
• Able to follow verbal and written technical instructions.
• Read, understand and follow safety procedures and general instructions.
• Experience with general workshop equipment and materials handling.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture items meeting customer requirements using conventional machine shop equipment.
• Support the wider workshop team with knowledge and careful handling of materials.
• Follow drawings, patterns and sketches for cutting and fabricating.
• Adhere to safety procedures and quality standards.

Now Hiring: Senior Workshop Machine Operative

Location: Huntingdon
Salary: £36k
Contract Type: DAYS
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

About the role:

Working as part of the workshop team you will use your engineering skills and knowledge to manufacture items that meet customer requirements using conventional machine shop equipment and support the wider team with your knowledge. Ideally you will have machine shop experience and or qualifications and would be willing to learn additional skills within the department. WE are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Key Requirements

• Ability to use general workshop equipment such as bandsaw, lathe, vertical mill and guillotines
• Engineering / machine shop experience or qualification
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written technical instructions.
• Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures and general instructions
• Attention to detail and quality
• Care and patience towards dealing with fragile and delicate materials
• Experience of using computer systems
• Proactive and positive attitude
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Ability to retrieve field information, such as dimensions and angles, without supervision.
• Ability to interpret and follow sketches and patterns for cutting and fabricating.
• Basic knowledge of metals, materials, polymers or ceramics is an advantage
