Job Title: Workshop Technician - Construction Department

Contract Type: Permanent, 37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year

Job Overview

To maintain workshops in the Construction Centre to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, prepare and organise materials and tools, and assist with the smooth operation of the department by providing technical support to lecturers. Bath College is committed to inclusive education, catering to a wide range of abilities from entry level to Level 5 programs, and is dedicated to meeting the needs of all students. Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and organise the construction and building services section.
  2. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of workshops, equipment, and tools.
  3. Ensure all tools are safe for use by students and staff.
  4. Keep tools and equipment clean and available when needed.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of all workshop areas, including floors, following weekly schedules.
  6. Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
  1. Educated to Level 2 or equivalent.
  2. Safeguarding Level 1 certificate or willingness to obtain it.
  3. Commitment to professional development and updating knowledge.
  4. Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  5. Knowledge of machines and hand tools.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  7. Experience in the construction or building services industry.
  8. Experience with stock control.
