Job summary

DelaControl Ltd is seeking a Production / Workshop Manager to take ownership of the Bristol workshop and drive it forward. You will oversee the day-to-day operations on the shop floor, supervising the production of bespoke control panels and special purpose machinery from start to dispatch.

The role is hands-on and requires someone who can shape workshop practices, improve processes, raise standards, and build a capable team to meet project delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing or supervising a production/workshop team in manufacturing/engineering settings.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling and delivery management.
• Track record of driving process improvements and efficiency on the shop floor.
• Confident leader, able to motivate and develop a team.
• Solid knowledge of workshop health & safety practices and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of bespoke control systems and machinery from job release to completion.
• Plan and manage workshop scheduling to ensure projects are resourced and delivered on time.
• Lead and develop a team of 8 workshop staff, including training and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement across layout, processes, and ways of working.
• Own health & safety standards on the workshop floor and ensure compliance.
• Act as the link between workshop and office/engineering teams for status and priorities.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and escalate delivery risks early.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the build process.
• Report on workshop performance, capacity, and delivery to senior leadership.
