Job summary

NEOS Engineering are recruiting for an established construction machinery business looking to add an experienced Workshop Engineer to their engineering team based in the Norfolk / Mildenhall area.

This is a hands‑on workshop role working on a modern fleet of excavators, telehandlers, rollers and associated construction plant. The role involves servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and preparing machinery for hire, with overtime available and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience with heavy construction machinery and hands-on fault finding.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills are essential.
• Experience with excavators, telehandlers, rollers or similar plant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on construction plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Prepare machinery for hire and customer delivery.
• Carry out breakdown repairs and fault finding as required.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure all machinery is maintained to a high standard.
• Work closely with the wider engineering and operations teams.

£18.00 – £21.00 per hour + Overtime

About You

We're looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer / Plant Fitter with a strong background working on construction machinery.

• Previous experience working on heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding skills.
• Experience with excavators, telehandlers, rollers or similar machinery.
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment.
• Relevant plant engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Good attention to detail and a strong approach to health & safety.

Package

• £18.00 – £21.00 per hour, depending on experience.
