Job summary

Joinimagine is seeking a Paint and Prep Technician in Bridgend, UK, reporting to the Workshop Manager. You will complete final stage of truck preparation, including pre-paint prep, priming, and finishing coats for trucks completed in the workshop.

You will ensure health and safety, manage paints and prep materials, maintain stock, and keep the paint bay clean. The role requires daily checks of compressors and filters, PPE handling, and planning work to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Manage stock of paint, solvents and prep materials to ensure continuity.
• Manage PPE and its storage.
• Keep paint bay clean and safe, housekeeping.
• Daily compressor oil level checks and pressure regulator operation.
• Maintain and change extract filters on schedule.
• Carry out daily startup and shutdown checks.
• Report air leaks promptly.
• Plan work to reduce non-productive time.

Responsibilities

• Conform to health and safety policies in all activities.
• Perform final-stage truck preparation including priming and finishing coats.
• Maintain stock of paints, solvents and prep materials to ensure workflow continuity.
• Manage PPE storage and upkeep for the team.
• Keep the paint bay clean and safe, with proper housekeeping.
• Check compressor oil levels and operation of pressure regulators daily.
• Replace and maintain extract filters as scheduled.
• Complete daily startup and shutdown checks.
• Identify and report air leaks as they occur.
• Plan work to minimise non-productive time.

Job description

Reporting to the workshop Manager, working closely with the Workshop Team Leader, this position will include final stage of truck preparation including where necessary: initial perparation prior to paint, primer and finished coat for all trucks that are completed in the workshop.

The role will require localised control and management of paint and preparation materials required to do the job

Tasks and Qualifications:

• To comply with all aspects of Health and Safety ensuring H&S initiatives are embraced and incorporated in the role.
• To work to a high standard for preparation and finish of trucks that go through the paint process.
• To maintain a reasonable stock of paint, solvent, and preparation materials, and to reorder stock in a timely manner to ensure continuity of work through the paint shop.
• To manage your own PPE, to include suitable storage to protect the equipment when not in use.
• To maintain a clean and orderly paint bay inclusive of housekeeping and safe working environment.
• The check compressor oil levels and correct operation of any pressure regulators on a daily basis.
• To maintain and change extract filters to the required schedule.
• To carry out a startup and shutdown checks daily.
• To report any air leaks as they become apparent.
• To work efficiently planning work to reduce none productive time.
