Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd is looking for a Workshop Operative to join their Norwich team on a full-time permanent basis. Working Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with overtime options, the role involves assisting with construction, production and assembly of cases and products using hand and power tools.

The successful candidate will have practical engineering aptitude, be reliable, adaptable, and able to work extended hours when required, with a preference for a clean driving license and the ability to

Qualifications

  • Highly organised and able to work under high pressure during busy periods.
  • Be able to reliably commute to the Norwich office.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to work extended hours when required.
  • Clean or near clean driving license is preferable
  • Understand basic engineering drawings, methods and terminology.
  • Understand the principles of engineering and good working practices.
  • Ability to make basic calculations around material dimensions and specifications without the use of a calculator
  • Adaptable, reliable, tolerant and determined.

Responsibilities

  • To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of cases and affiliated products using a variety of hand tools or power tools.
  • To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders
  • Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager
  • Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department
  • Comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety procedures at all times.
  • Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop or for the safe use of hand held tools e.g. hand routers, grinders, etc
  • Support and assist the Workshop Manager and other Machine operators/Finishers.
  • Liaise closely with other production functions to resolve assembly queries

Our client, a successful manufacturing business, are currently seeking a Workshop Operative to join their team.

This is a full time permanent position, working in Norwich.

Hours

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overtime is also available
