Aldworth James and Bond is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Workshop Manager to join our growing team and workshop premises.
Aldworth James and Bond is a multidisciplinary group of architects, designers, project managers, tradespeople and makers. We are skilled in creative architecture, design, joinery, metalwork and finishes. We work all over the world on a range of diverse and exciting projects and installations. As an organisation we are known for our focus on quality, attention to detail and passionate approach to projects.
The successful candidate will be energetic, with excellent management, organisation and communication skills.
This is a permanent full time role that is based in our workshops and studios in Deptford, south east London.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- An appreciation and understanding of high-quality design and build
- Knowledge/ experience of woodwork and finishing equipment useful.
- Work well in the AJ and B team and have a good rapport with makers, tradespeople and suppliers
- SMSTS holder / Black CSCS card holder with NVQ in Construction site supervisor / manager or similar
- NEBOSH certificate / diploma
- experience managing teams of makers / labourers / communicating with other team leaders
- Excellent communication skills and team attitude
About the role—
The main responsibilities will consist of:
Monitoring workshop teams ensuring good workflow
Promoting Health and Safety excellence and organisation in a workshop environment
Distributing and managing PPE supplies and ensuring their use
Monitoring workshop stock level
Managing machine maintenance, organising repairs
Management of deliveries and storage of materials alongside the logistics team
