Recruit4Staff represent a leading Manufacturer recruiting a Workshop Manager in Stoke on Trent. You will lead a fabrications team, plan workloads, and monitor progress while ensuring welds meet quality standards.

The role offers day or night shifts, a salary up to £60,000 with shift premium, plus a Christmas bonus, extra annual leave with service, employee assistance, pension and life assurance. It’s a permanent, site-based position.

Qualifications

• Stable background in managing fabrication teams.
• Strong man management skills are essential.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Relevant Welding & Fabrication qualification is a plus.
• Knowledge of Welding & Fabrication standards.
• Experience leading teams and achieving targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a fabricator welders team in a busy workshop.
• Allocate workload and monitor progress of projects.
• Hold daily team meetings and report progress regularly.
• Inspect welds to ensure correct standards are met.
• Eliminate issues during builds and ensure targets are hit.
• Guide techniques and drive continuous improvement.
• Liaise with Purchasing to ensure materials are available.
• Mentor staff and participate in disciplinary procedures when needed.

Recruit4Staff are pleased to be representing their client, a leading Manufacturer in their search for a Workshop Manager to work in their leading facility in Stoke on Trent.

For the successful Workshop Manager our client is offering:

• Competitive annual salary paying up to £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (Inclusive of shift premium)
• Days based role 7:30am - 5pm with a 12:30pm finish on Fridays OR
• Nights Monday to Thursday 6pm-6am
• Permanent position within a thriving Manufacturer, who already have a full order book for 2027!

The Role - Workshop Manager:

• Responsible for leading & motivating a team of Fabricator Welders within a busy Workshop environment
• Allocating workload out to staff
• Reporting progress of projects on a regular basis
• Carrying out meetings with the team on a daily basis
• Inspecting Welds that have been produced ensuring they're to correct standards
• Eliminating any issues during builds
• Ensuring the team are hitting production targets
• Guiding the team on relevant Welding & Fabrication techniques, ensuring continuous improvement within the department
• Liaising with other areas of the Business (IE Purchasing) ensuring sufficient materials are available
• Planning the workload carefully ensuring the team are able to achieve targets
• Continuous improvement

• Involved in relevant disciplinary procedures if necessary
