Workshop Manager
Location: Swindon
£45,000 per annum | OTE: £50,000
Monday to Friday | 39 hours per week
Permanent contract

The Opportunity
We're hiring a proactive and experienced Workshop Manager to lead a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Swindon. This is a key role focused on the smooth day-to-day running of the service department—managing technicians, developing staff, and ensuring that every vehicle leaves the workshop in top condition. What You'll Be Doing

  1. Leading and motivating a team of workshop technicians on a daily basis
  2. Ensuring technicians receive ongoing training and support to maintain high service standards
  3. Monitoring workshop performance and identifying areas for process improvement
  4. Working closely with service advisors and management to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction
  5. Delivering on KPIs and financial targets across productivity, quality, and customer service
  6. Playing an active role in improving health & safety, compliance, and quality control

What You'll Need

  1. Previous experience as a Workshop Manager or in a senior supervisory role
  2. Hands-on background as a fully qualified technician (essential)
  3. Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage both people and processes
  4. Strong communication skills, both with your team and external customers
  5. Ability to work under pressure, plan ahead, and meet tight deadlines
  6. Commercial awareness with a clear understanding of service department performance metrics
