Job summary

E.C.One, a contemporary jewellery manufacturer and retailer based in Clerkenwell, London, seeks a proactive Workshop Manager to oversee daily workshop operations, repairs, remodelling and bespoke pieces. You will coordinate with the Head Goldsmith and suppliers to ensure high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers hands-on leadership, close collaboration across workshop, shop, and bespoke teams, and opportunities to manage deadlines, pricing, sourcing, and quality checks

Qualifications

• Previous jewellery workshop experience preferred.
• Ability to source stones and provide cost estimates.
• Experience coordinating suppliers and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the workshop workflow, deadlines and job list.
• Coordinate with Head Goldsmith to align priorities.
• Prepare quotes for repairs, remodelling and bespoke commissions.
• Liaise with shop and bespoke teams on progress and pickups.
• Source and price gemstones for bespoke work and stock.
• Order stones, chains and other workshop materials.
• Coordinate with setters, engravers, stone cutters and suppliers.
• Oversee collections and deliveries to local suppliers.
• Quality check finished pieces and prepare spec sheets.
• Support CAD Designer and photograph pieces for records.

We’re looking for an organised and proactive Workshop Manager to join us.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of E.C.One, keeping everything running smoothly between our workshop, shop and bespoke team, as well as our network of specialist suppliers and craftspeople.

You will oversee the day-to-day flow of work through the workshop, making sure repairs, bespoke commissions, remodelling and stock pieces progress smoothly and are completed to the high standards our customers expect.

Working closely with our Head Goldsmith and wider team, you’ll keep track of deadlines, organise suppliers, source stones, prepare quotes and quality check finished pieces.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and gets satisfaction from keeping lots of moving parts organised.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the workshop job list, deadlines and workflow
• Working closely with our Head Goldsmith to coordinate jobs and priorities
• Preparing quotes for repairs, remodelling and bespoke commissions
• Liaising with our shop and bespoke team about jobs in progress
• Sourcing and pricing gemstones for bespoke commissions and stock
• Ordering stones, chains and other workshop requirements
• Liaising with setters, engravers, stone cutters, stone dealers and other specialist suppliers
• Coordinating collections and deliveries to local suppliers
• Quality checking finished pieces
• Preparing specification sheets for bespoke pieces and insurance valuations
• Managing stone approvals and returns
• Managing and supporting our CAD Designer
• Photographing bespoke pieces and selected stock using our in-house Orbitvu system
• Helping with occasional stock pricing and design projects

Previous experience within jewellery, a workshop or a production environment would be an advantage, particularly an understanding of gemstones and jewellery manufacturing.
