Job summary

Stagecoach Eastbourne Depot is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team of technicians across mechanical, electrical and bodywork tasks for a fleet of over 60 vehicles at Eastbourne depot, on a 40-hour week.

You will schedule maintenance, develop your team, ensure high quality after maintenance checks and uphold health and safety standards in line with Stagecoach policy.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience managing a workshop or technical team with strong PCV operations understanding.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and regulatory standards.
• People-centered leadership with strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles.
• Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities.
• Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement.
• Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met.
• Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy.

What we’re looking for

• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards

• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
