Job summary

Stagecoach Eastbourne is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a depot-based maintenance team responsible for over 60 vehicles. You will plan and prioritise servicing, coordinate skilled technicians and drive continuous improvement to maintain high standards of safety and reliability.

You'll bring relevant engineering experience, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and a strong grasp of PCV operations, health and safety practices, plus confident people leadership in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team.
• Strong understanding of PCV operations and safety practices.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.

• 40hrs per week

What you'll be doing

• Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles
• Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities
• Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement
• Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met
• Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy

What we're looking for

• Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
• A people-centered approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
