Job summary

Durham County Council seeks two Workshop Fitters to join Fleet Services in Environment to repair and maintain a range of vehicles, plant and equipment to meet performance targets and customer requirements.

You will operate diagnostic equipment and use specialist tools, and you will attend vehicle and plant breakdowns to provide prompt assistance as needed. A NVQ level 2 in vehicle maintenance and a category B driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified in light or heavy vehicle maintenance to NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Hold a minimum category B driving licence.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

>Are you qualified in vehicle or machinery maintenance and ready for a new opportunity? Fleet Services in Environment are looking for 2 Workshop Fitters to join their Team.

• Undertake the repair and maintenance to various types of vehicles, plant and associated equipment in accordance with the Unit's stated performance targets and customer requirements.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and specialist tools / equipment.
• Attend vehicle and plant breakdowns and provide assistance as appropriate.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

• Qualification in light or heavy goods vehicle maintenance or horticultural machinery maintenance to a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• Hold a minimum category B driver licence
