Reed Specialist Recruitment is supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Scunthorpe to recruit a dependable workshop engineer. This role covers welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting, vehicle maintenance, or general engineering, with on-the-job training to broaden skills.

You will work in a friendly team, read engineering drawings, use hand and power tools, and contribute to long-term, stable employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical fitting is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop on the job.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term employment.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsabilités

• Carry out welding and fabrication work to a high standard.
• Assemble and fit mechanical components and equipment.
• Undertake maintenance, repair, and modification work as required.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Support other areas of the workshop when required.

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a reliable and motivated individual to join its workshop team. This role would suit someone with experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting, vehicle maintenance, or general engineering. Equally, applications are welcomed from candidates who possess some of these skills and are keen to develop further through on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out welding and fabrication work to a high standard.
