Job summary

Arriva London is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to join our North/South London depots. You will assist the Garage Engineering Manager in running a high‑performing workshop, ensuring DVSA and KPI targets are met while staying within budget.

This role emphasizes leadership, safety, and proactive problem solving. The successful candidate will supervise engineers, coordinate workloads, ensure quality workmanship, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a busy transport

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with maintenance/repair experience
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and IOSH
• Ability to lead and supervise a team in a depot environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee workshop activities and ensure safe working practices
• Lead and supervise engineers to service, maintain, repair and overhaul vehicles
• Coordinate workload and ensure timely delivery of maintenance within budget
• Maintain records, reports and adherence to DVSA and client requirements
• Deputise for Engineering Manager in their absence and drive continuous improvement
