Job summary

Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, is seeking an experienced electro/mechanical fitter to inspect, strip and repair motors and gearboxes to customer standards.

You will conduct fault analysis, test repaired items, and maintain workshop quality while liaising with suppliers and customers to identify faults and recommend replacements, ensuring adherence to QA processes and safety procedures in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• An experienced electro/mechanical, pump or pipe fitter.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical repair techniques.
• Knowledge of a broad range of test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection and fault analysis on pumps and related equipment.
• Test repaired items to required standards.
• Develop test equipment and procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers for fault identification.
• Produce recommendations for replacement with new item.
• Maintain test kit, tools and workshop.
• Presentation of returned items to desired standards.
• Present a tidy workshop and workspace.
• Work within QA workshop procedures, method statements and risk assessments.

We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gear boxes, pumps, machining induction, condition monitoring and fabrication services.

The purpose of the role is to inspect, identify problems, strip and repair motor and gear boxes to the required customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

Main Tasks and Deliverables:

• Carrying out the inspection and fault analysis, on all types of pumps, pumping systems, pipe work and associated equipment
• Testing repaired items
• Developing test equipment and procedures
• Liaising with suppliers
• Liaising with customer for fault identification
• Producing recommendations for replacement with new item
• Maintaining test kit, tools and workshop
• Presentation of returned items to desired standards
• Presenting a tidy workshop and workspace
• Working within the Deritend QA workshop procedures, method statements and risk assessments

Skills and Experience:
