Job summary

Activate Accident Repair Bristol is seeking a Workshop Controller to ensure repairs are carried out efficiently and to high standards within the bodyshop. This role reports to the Bodyshop Manager and operates on a 45-hour week in Bristol.

A £5,000 sign-on bonus is paid after probation, with a strong package including 33 days holiday, quarterly bonus and clear progression opportunities at Activate Group. You’ll lead the workflow, supervise vehicle repair flow, uphold Health and Safety standards,

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the repair industry, vehicle legislation and trade practice.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, including EPA provisions and risk assessment.
• Confident computer literacy.
• Natural leadership and coaching ability.
• Strong knowledge of the repair process and vehicle construction.
• Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Implement workshop loading system in line with policy and procedures, meeting targets.
• Liaise with office logistics to monitor vehicles entering for repair.
• Utilize resources efficiently to meet targets.
• Deliver exceptional customer service at every step.
• Champion Health and Safety in the workshop, including PPE responsibility.
• Flag potential Health and Safety risks to affected staff.
• Monitor and control workshop output and efficiencies.
• Explain repair procedures clearly to workshop and customers.
• Direct the use of workshop equipment when allocating tasks.
• Value vehicles at market rate to determine repair economics.
• Keep material wastage within target.
• Ensure no customer vehicle or contents are damaged or lost during repair.
