We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Assistant to join a leading and growing manufacturing company near Christchurch.

Introduction

The primary role of the Workshop Assistant involves supporting activities across the manufacturing site, which includes a variety of duties.

Responsibilities
  • Keeping all manufacturing areas clean, following a regular cleaning schedule.
  • Maintaining buildings and site cleanliness, including yard maintenance (hedge trimming, debris removal).
  • Ensuring the entire site is well maintained, and notifying management of repairs and general maintenance needs.
  • Managing waste, including general waste, recycling, metal swarf segregation, and hazardous waste (oil).
  • Annually draining and cleaning slurry from machines.
  • Operating forklifts to move goods, materials, and scrap/swarf bins within the factory and yard, including loading and storage areas.
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures and processes.
Ideal Experience

The ideal candidate will be willing to undertake a variety of duties, be self-motivated, and have previous experience as a handyman or general site assistant. Forklift experience is advantageous but not essential. The role involves lifting and moving stock, equipment, and materials safely.

Salary

£25,762 for 25 hours per week, which is £19.82 per hour.

Hours

25 hours per week, typically worked across 4 days (Monday to Thursday).

Overtime

Paid at time and a half.
